Description

You will define the enterprise architecture, modernization strategy, and implementation roadmap for HydroServer and its ecosystem. You own the technical vision from discovery through deployment, ensuring alignment with state AI policies, security standards, and user-centered design principles.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Define overall application architecture, technology stack, and cloud deployment strategies on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Design integration approaches using SensorThings APIs, HydroServer APIs, and HydroServerPy, including GIS and mapping integrations.
• Develop architectural strategies for modernizing the Water Rights MapServer, including migration from ArcGIS Maps SDK 3.x to 5.x.
• Create comprehensive implementation roadmaps, release plans, and cost estimates using cone-of-uncertainty methodologies.
• Establish authentication, authorization, and security governance strategies, including ADA compliance and data privacy requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture and software design.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and React for web application development.
• Deep experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and deployment.
• Proven track record designing RESTful APIs and integration patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control using GitHub.
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data visualization platforms.
• Familiarity with IAM (Identity and Access Management) and security architecture.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with UX/UI design tools like Figma and user-centered design principles.
• Background in emerging AI capabilities and integration with state AI policies.
