Responsibilities

• Receive epic and feature assignments from train architects and translate general direction into detailed technical strategy
• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Development technical leads to refine and deeply understand requirements
• Collaborate with Solution Domain Lead architects to seek guidance and vet solutions that impact other domains
• Work with integration architects to deliver solution artifacts including sketches, presentations, and comprehensive documentation
• Continuously build and refine business and systems subject matter expertise
• Identify and apply appropriate architecture patterns; develop new patterns when addressing novel challenges
• Present solution sketches and architectural proposals to stakeholders—including architect teams, Infrastructure Subject Matter Experts, and business leaders—for review and feedback
• Engage directly with business customers to understand business needs and work across all stakeholders to define solutions that address those needs
• Facilitate meetings with stakeholders, partners, and team members to align on technical direction and resolve conflicts

Qualifications

• Required
  • Proven experience as a senior-level, end-to-end Solutions Architect with a foundation in application development (not infrastructure architecture)
  • Direct experience interacting with business customers to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Architectural and technical expertise with cloud platforms, particularly GCP and AWS, including native services, cloud-agnostic solutions, containers, and cloud/SaaS systems integration
  • Experience designing REST APIs that provide strong developer experience and simplify systems integration
  • Experience designing systems that leverage Kafka for messaging and streaming
  • Experience with RDBMS and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB); understanding of benefits and trade-offs between relational and non-relational approaches, including normalization, denormalization, sharding, and other data-centric patterns
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing complex systems with a disciplined and rigorous approach
  • Strong capabilities in requirements analysis, estimation, systems and application design, and testing
  • Familiarity with popular design patterns
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, and consensus-building skills; ability to work effectively with individuals across all functions (product, program, development, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision; self-directed work style
  • Experience delivering superior software products as a team player using Agile methodologies
  • Experience working on Agile teams
  • Hands-on experience with modern languages, frameworks, and technologies including Java, JavaScript, Node.js, messaging queuing infrastructures, and cloud and on-premise infrastructure and services
  • Experience with distributed computing architectures, including understanding of race conditions, parallelism, and concurrency control

  • Proven track record working as part of a team on large and complex systems
  • Experience with SAFe Software Development Principles
  • Experience with distributed caching solutions and understanding of factors that enable effective caching strategies
  • Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices
