You will define the target architecture and operating model for large-scale payments transformation programs at a major Canadian bank. Your role bridges functional leadership and hands-on technical design.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional aspects of payments transformation, defining target architecture and operating models for non-card systems.
• Design and implement payment engines and products, integrating modern applications with legacy systems.
• Architect solutions using microservices, API integration, and event-driven patterns within cloud environments.
• Ensure technical alignment across clearing, settlement, and global payments processing frameworks.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in payments transformation, specifically non-Cards (SWIFT, RTP, ACSS, Lynx/LVTS).
• Deep techno-functional knowledge of Canadian payments systems: Lynx, ACSS, RTP, and SWIFT (MT, ISO20022/MX).
• Proven experience defining Target Architecture Models and Target Operating Models in large banking contexts.
• Hands-on design, architecture, and implementation experience with payment engines (e.g., Finastra GPP, FIS-OPF, Volante, ACI MTS, or home-grown).
• Technical awareness of cloud deployment, API integration, and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of clearing and settlement systems, middleware, service buses, SOA, and transaction processing.
• Comprehensive IT knowledge including applications development, testing, deployment, security, networking, and OS/DBMS.
