Description

You will architect and build a ground-up publication management system, balancing high-level design with hands-on development of a scalable, secure platform.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall system architecture, including application, data, integration, and security layers.
• Actively write, review, and maintain production-quality code for bibliographic data, curation workflows, and reporting.
• Design and develop scalable APIs and integration patterns for upstream and downstream systems.
• Build and optimize data models and persistence layers for complex metadata and reporting needs.
• Implement AI-enabled features, such as metadata enrichment, publication matching, and workflow automation.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in application or solutions architecture with significant hands-on development responsibility.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience with modern architectural patterns, including microservices or modular architectures.
• Proven ability to design and build data-intensive systems with complex metadata requirements.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience designing and implementing AI/ML capabilities within enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with scholarly metadata standards (DOI, ORCID, MeSH, PubMed) is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Background in research, healthcare, life sciences, or academic environments.
• Understanding of responsible AI principles, including data governance, explainability, and privacy.
