Description

You will lead the development and maintenance of large-scale data applications using Apache Spark in McLean, VA.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using the Apache Spark framework.
• Design cloud-based solutions using AWS services (S3, Lambda, Step Functions, AMQ, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch).
• Build microservices with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
• Implement queue-based architectures and streaming data platforms.
• Manage security, transactions, monitoring, and performance requirements.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in Big Data.
• Expertise in Apache Spark (SQL, DataFrames, Datasets, streaming).
• Strong programming in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and Hadoop ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and ELK stack.
• Proficiency in NoSQL (MongoDB) and ORM (JPA/Hibernate).
• Experience with DevOps toolchains (Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Spinnaker).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with skill development and mentoring engineering teams.
