Description

Own the end-to-end testing strategy and automation for embedded protection and control products in substation environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test automation frameworks using Python, Java, and JavaScript for embedded systems.
• Validate industrial communication protocols including IEC 61850, IEC 60870, Modbus, and DNP3.
• Develop and operate HIL, FIL, and SIL test environments to simulate real-world grid conditions and fault scenarios.
• Debug embedded firmware and hardware interactions using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and serial communication tools.
• Define testing strategies, create detailed test plans, and track defects through resolution in Agile environments.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Embedded Testing, Test Automation, and Protective Relaying/Substation Solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and JavaScript for test script development.
• Deep understanding of IEC 61850, IEC 60870, Modbus, and DNP3 protocols.
• Experience with HIL/FIL/SIL testing methodologies and simulation tools.
• Strong background in SDLC, STLC, and Agile development practices.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Software Engineering.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Golang, Bash, or cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Familiarity with hardware debugging tools like Wireshark, Tera Term, and Oscilloscopes.
• ISTQB Foundation certification.
