Description

Manage and support MS SQL database instances to ensure high availability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Administer database instances including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and security.
• Resolve P1, P2, and P3 incidents and perform root cause analysis to implement long-term fixes.
• Manage backups, recovery, and high availability features such as mirroring, replication, and clustering.
• Execute medium to complex project modules and change requests.
• Provide 24x7 production support and mentor junior team members.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise managing MS SQL 2008 through 2019 RDBMS on medium to large systems.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL and query tuning.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and proactive monitoring.
• Proven ability in backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Knowledge of Windows OS and related commands.
• Experience with high availability features including mirroring, replication, and clustering.
• Ability to work in shifts for 24x7 production support.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SQL Azure.
