Description

You will manage and support PostgreSQL and MySQL database environments in a co-location setting. You own the database portion of application releases and implement technology projects as the primary DBA.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve live database system issues, providing 24x7 production support.
• Execute database cloning, refreshes, and migrations between database technologies.
• Develop PL/SQL procedures and SQL scripts to satisfy data load and migration requirements from architects.
• Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Mentor team members on DBA tasks and emerging technologies.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL 8.3, 8.4, and 9.0.
• 6 to 9 years of experience in MySQL database administration.
• Mandatory experience with NDB Clusters and migrating MySQL Fabric Replication Shards to NDB Cluster 7.4.
• Expertise in MySQL internals, configuration, replication strategies, and upgrades.
• Experience migrating databases to Cloud environments.
• Experience with third-party replication systems such as Tungsten.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting, including stored procedures and PSQL.
• Strong knowledge of query execution plans, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with indexing, partitions, and MySQL storage engines.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
• Expertise in Oracle Backup & Recovery.
• Understanding of Incident Management and Change Management processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in replication strategies.
