Description

You will own the administration, maintenance, and upgrade of SQL Server environments in a VM-based infrastructure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of SQL Server from version 2017 to 2022 within a virtualized environment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Always On Availability Groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and backup/restore operations for production and DR environments.
• Guide contractor DBAs and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of SQL Server DBA experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience migrating SQL Server in high-availability clustered environments.
• Expertise in clustering, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies using virtual machines.
• Strong understanding of Hyper-V or VMware environments.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience managing SQL Server on Windows Server in on-premises data centers.
• Experience with SQL Server components such as SSRS, SSIS, and Analysis Services.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent.
• Familiarity with VM backup and snapshot strategies.
