Description

You will own the database infrastructure, supporting complex commercial credit applications across SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2 environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and optimize database schemas, including table design, updates, and query performance tuning for MS-SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
• Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis for database-related outages, ensuring high availability and security.
• Implement data-driven monitoring and observability using Splunk and Dynatrace to define SLIs/SLOs and capacity models.
• Develop automation scripts in PowerShell, Bash, and Python to streamline support workflows and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with platform and security teams to manage patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database administration, with deep expertise in SQL Server and Linux/Unix systems.
• Proficiency in SQL query design, table loads, and performance optimization.
• Strong scripting capabilities in PowerShell, Bash, and Python for automation and tooling.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms, specifically Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Hands-on administration of Linux/Unix systems, including package management, services, logs, and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and Windows Server/Active Directory.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change management.
• Experience with batch file transfer methodologies (FTP, SCP, MQ) and real-time messaging systems.
