Key Skills: SQL DBA, Migration

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Understand customer SQL Server database landscapes and business requirements.
• Configure SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions in Azure across multiple subnets and regions.
• Administer database security policies, resource governance, and Azure Key Vault integrations.
• Migrate SQL Server databases from on-premises to Azure Cloud using tools and methods such as DMA, DMS, and log shipping.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to define migration requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Drive cloud solutioning activities for large-scale SQL Server migrations.
• Plan storage and capacity management, creating logical and physical database models.
• Install and configure SQL Server across multiple versions (200x to 2022).
• Troubleshoot Windows and SQL Server-related issues effectively.
• Design, implement, and operate database systems optimized for performance, availability, and reliability in Azure.
• Upgrade SQL Server from legacy versions to the latest supported versions in Azure.
• Utilize T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for database administration and automation.
• Ensure compliance with client expectations, security standards, and operational best practices.

Skills Required:S

• Extensive experience as a SQL DBA managing large-scale, mission-critical SQL Server environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in migrating SQL Server databases from on-premises to Azure Cloud.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server HA/DR architectures including Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong understanding of Azure services related to SQL workloads, storage, networking, and security.
• Experience using migration tools such as DMA, DMS, and log shipping.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows Server and SQL Server platforms.
• Experience in database performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization.
• Ability to work closely with customers, architects, and delivery teams on complex migration programs.

Education: Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field
