You will lead the migration of SQL Server databases from 2016/2019 to 2022, ensuring data integrity through read-only setups, backups, and restoration strategies.
Responsibilities
- Configure user accounts, permissions, SQL jobs, SSIS packages, and linked servers for the upgraded environment.
- Migrate and validate SSRS reports and subscriptions while collaborating with stakeholders to update data sources and application compatibility.
- Implement and support Always On High Availability and clustering solutions to ensure system reliability.
- Perform database performance tuning, including indexing and query optimization, and monitor systems for optimal performance.
- Provide post-migration support, resolve user issues, track project progress, and manage scope changes.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of experience with SQL Server database migration and administration.
- 4+ years of experience with Always On High Availability and clustering.
- 4+ years of experience with SSRS or similar reporting tools.
- 4+ years of experience in data analysis and data warehousing concepts, including star and snowflake schemas.
- 2+ years of experience with database performance monitoring tools such as Redgate.
- Strong experience with SSIS, SQL job scheduling, and linked servers.
- Proven ability to support enterprise-level database environments and migrations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Knowledge of SAN performance tuning and storage optimization.
- Experience working in large-scale or public sector environments.
