Description

You will manage SQL Server environments and lead migrations from on-premises systems to Azure PaaS and IaaS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Migrate on-premises SQL systems to Azure data platforms using tools that ensure minimal application downtime.
• Design, configure, and perform capacity planning for Azure SQL database systems.
• Set up and manage SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AAG) and Distributed Availability Groups (DAAG).
• Automate day-to-day migration activities, database maintenance jobs, backups, and index maintenance in Azure.
• Implement monitoring and alerting for Azure databases and perform continuous performance tuning.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a SQL DBA.
• Proven experience migrating on-premises SQL systems to Azure (PaaS and IaaS).
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL database configuration and design.
• Expertise in SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AAG) and Distributed AAAG (DAAG).
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Strong performance tuning skills.
• Experience with data migration tools and methods.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to NoSQL platforms such as Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience architecting or building containerized database solutions.
