Technical Skills:

1. Creates and maintains enterprise databases required for development, testing and production usage.
2. Leads Installation of new versions of the SQL server (2012 to 2019) and other integrated tools that access the SQL server database.
3. Should be good in capacity planning
4. Undertaking Installation, upgrades, migrations and patch management of Database. This includes environment to standalone, cluster (multi node).
5. Good knowledge of installation of SQL server service packs, security patch across SQL environment
6. Good knowledge of HA solutions cluster, always on, distributed availability group
7. Good knowledge of backup tool DDBoost is required
8. Plans and implements backup and recovery of the SQL database and other organizations databases.
9. Periodical health check-up of the databases and perform ongoing tuning of database Instances.
10. Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
11. Creation of database and application users and assign the appropriate roles and responsibility as per the organization s policy.
12. Good Exposure on SQL Database hands on experience in administration & management of different versions and upgrades from SQL Server 2012 to 2019
13. Good exposure on migrating DTS/SSIS packages to new SQL server 2016/2019 is required
14. Good to have exposure on troubleshooting skills about SSIS and SSRS
15. Have exposure to Disaster Recovery / DR Drills.
16. Excellent communication Skills Written and Verbal
17. Ability to perform both SQL and Operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments for performance improvements
18. Ability to do root cause analysis of critical issues.
19. Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
20. Setup and maintain documentation and standards
21. Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support in shifts & weekends
22. Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
23. Proven ability to raise case with MS support for efficient closure of critical issues
24. Ability to work effectively with team and share knowledge
25. Knowledge of Operating System(s) Windows (mandatory)/ Linux(desired)
26. Good to have knowledge of PowerShell & Perl scripting
27. Tool Knowledge – SQL SSMS, Fog light ( For monitoring) , DDBoost ( For backups)
