Description

You will manage and optimize Microsoft SQL Server instances in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances and high availability solutions like AlwaysOn Availability Groups and failover clustering.
• Monitor database performance, analyze query execution plans, and optimize SQL code and configurations.
• Manage database security, access controls, and compliance with data protection regulations like GDPR and HIPAA.
• Execute backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures, including regular testing and drills.
• Implement maintenance tasks including indexing, defragmentation, and statistics updates.
• Collaborate with developers and system administrators to ensure seamless database operations and capacity planning.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator in a production environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong SQL querying and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of database security, authentication mechanisms, and data protection standards.
• Experience using database monitoring and alerting tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
