Description

Manage production and development SQL Server environments with a focus on high availability, security, and performance. Own the full lifecycle of database administration, from installation and patching to optimization and migration.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch SQL Server software and third-party applications.
• Manage high-availability features including clusters, availability groups, mirroring, and database replication.
• Execute database maintenance including index/statistics updates, space allocation, backups, and restores.
• Monitor usage and performance to optimize SQL statements, indexes, and server configurations.
• Define security roles, permissions, and user access to maintain environment integrity.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience managing SQL Server environments.
• 5-7 years of administrative experience with SQL Server 2014 or later.
• High proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and PowerShell for automation and scripting.
• 3+ years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining ETL packages using SSIS.
• 3-5 years of experience optimizing stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints.
• Experience with HADR configurations and database object migrations across multiple environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot job failures, performance issues, blocking/deadlocking, and connectivity problems.
• Proficiency in optimizing workloads using Profiler, Extended Events, or DMVs.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SolarWinds DPA.
• Familiarity with Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
