Description

You will manage and optimize large-scale database environments, ensuring high availability and performance for critical financial systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Own database building, application migrations, and decommissioning projects in coordination with US and UK application owners.
• Resolve day-to-day production issues, application upgrades, patches, and capacity planning requirements.
• Implement disaster recovery strategies and manage Always On and clustering troubleshooting.
• Execute change implementations during business hours and weekends following established change management processes.
• Drive service improvements, compliance with organizational policies, and operational performance reporting.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of total IT experience with extensive work in large-scale environments.
• 5 to 8 years of experience specializing in query optimization and performance troubleshooting.
• Expertise in MSSQL server internals, table partitioning, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience managing large databases ranging from 10TB to 30TB.
• Strong automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or T-SQL.
• Proven experience with HA/DR, Always On, and clustering.
• Experience with AWS RDS, S3, and Redshift.
• Proficiency in SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of Linux and Azure environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Snowflake, Oracle, or PowerBI.
• MS certifications on latest MSSQL versions or AWS/Azure certifications.
