Description
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and database objects.
- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and database optimization techniques.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for data migration, transformation, and integration.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, availability, and security across database environments.
- Monitor database health, identify bottlenecks, and resolve performance-related issues.
- Create reports, dashboards, and data extracts using database-driven data sources.
- Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Perform database backup, recovery, maintenance, and disaster recovery activities.
- Document database structures, development standards, procedures, and technical specifications.
- Support production environments by troubleshooting database issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Participate in database design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle Database.
- Expertise in SQL Query Writing and Performance Tuning.
- Experience with Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers.
- Strong understanding of Database Normalization and Data Modeling.
- Knowledge of Indexing, Partitioning, and Database Optimization techniques.
- Experience with ETL tools and Data Migration processes.
- Familiarity with Git, DevOps practices, and version control systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Azure SQL, AWS RDS, and cloud-based database platforms.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and architectures.
- Experience with Python or scripting languages for database automation.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in SQL Database Development.
