Description

You will own the administration of SQL Server environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across production, staging, and development environments.
• Perform database tuning, query optimization, and continuous performance monitoring.
• Manage backups, restores, and execute disaster recovery plans.
• Monitor database security, implement user permissions, and ensure policy compliance.
• Automate routine maintenance tasks using scripting and scheduling tools.
• Implement and maintain high-availability solutions like clustering or Always On Availability Groups.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2012, 2016, 2019, or later).
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems and command-line administration.
• Expertise in SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as PowerShell or Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and user management.
• Experience working onsite with clients and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-based SQL Server environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server).
• Knowledge of other database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.
