Description

You will own database performance, availability, and optimization for SQL Server environments.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and rewrite inefficient SQL queries to improve execution speed.
• Design and manage indexing strategies, including clustered, non-clustered, filtered, and columnstore indexes.
• Diagnose and resolve blocking, deadlocks, and transaction isolation issues.
• Manage and update statistics to ensure accurate query estimator cardinality.
• Monitor and tune memory management, I/O behavior, and query processing.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration and tuning.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server query processing engine and architecture.
• Proficiency in analyzing execution plans and identifying performance bottlenecks.
• Expertise in indexing strategies and the performance impact of INCLUDE columns.
• Knowledge of statistics, cardinality estimation, and query optimizer behavior.
• Experience managing high-concurrency workloads and resolving deadlocks.
• Ability to tune workloads for optimal memory and I/O usage.
