Description

Manage Microsoft SQL Server database environments and associated virtual machine servers across multi-datacenter locations.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and configure SQL Server instances for performance, capacity, and reliability.
• Coordinate SQL Server releases, migrations, upgrades, and maintenance windows.
• Configure SQL services, including security, JDBC, and clustering.
• Provide Tier III technical support and troubleshoot application issues in production and non-production environments.
• Build new environments and coordinate configurations with network, IIS, and storage teams.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Experience managing MS SQL Server environments including database virtual machines.
• Experience supporting distributed servers in a multi-datacenter environment.
• Knowledge of virtualized infrastructure running Unix, Linux, or AIX operating systems.
• Proficiency with DevOps tools: Ansible, Jenkins, Nexis, Maven, Bitbucket, Kony Mobile, and Nginx.
• Ability to provide technical assistance for SQL design and programming to application developers.

Preferred Skills

• Any Graduate degree or equivalent technical study.
