Description

You will design, deploy, and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases on-premises and in Azure, ensuring secure and governed architectures.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Optimize SQL Server performance through query tuning, index management, and resource optimization.
• Implement data security measures including encryption, Azure Active Directory authentication, and role-based access control.
• Establish data governance frameworks for classification, lineage tracking, and metadata management.
• Develop backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies using Azure Blob Storage and Always On Availability Groups.
• Lead migrations from on-premises SQL Server instances to Azure cloud database services.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Proficiency in T-SQL for database development and automation.
• Experience with PowerShell and Azure Automation for administrative tasks.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Understanding of data governance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Defender for SQL and security threat monitoring.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
