Description

Manage and optimize SQL Server environments while supporting application development through database design and performance tuning.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Optimize database performance by identifying resource-intensive queries and suggesting index or code modifications.
• Design and implement efficient database structures including tables, datatypes, stored procedures, and functions.
• Manage disaster recovery, backups, maintenance, and archiving using Always On, log shipping, mirroring, and replication.
• Execute database migrations from legacy systems such as ADABAS, DB2, and Access.
• Develop ETL processes and packages to handle data cleansing and transformation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with SQL Server 2008 R2 and 2012.
• Proficiency in SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
• Strong T-SQL skills for writing stored procedures, ad-hoc queries, and data integrity checks.
• Expertise in ETL development and data transformation using DTS or Integration Services.
• Experience with SQL Server installation on standalone and cluster servers.
• Proven ability in database design and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server monitoring utilities.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery workflows and replication.

Preferred Skills

• Conduct lunch-and-learn sessions to advise developers on database best practices.
