You will lead and manage a team of DBAs, establishing best practices across the function.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a small team of DBAs, providing guidance and sharing best practices.
• Develop HA/DR strategies to meet or exceed application RTO/RPO targets and implement backup/recovery solutions.
• Identify, assess, and escalate operational risks to senior leadership, presenting clear mitigation strategies.
• Support and mentor developers on coding practices, complex SQL development, and tuning of DML/stored procedures.
• Participate in and manage the 24x7 on-call rotation to support the database environment.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of relevant database experience.
• Expertise with SQL Server, SQL, Oracle, Sybase, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience conducting enterprise modernization and upgrade programs.
• Proficiency in database tuning, generating traces, analyzing execution plans, and resolving deadlocks.
• Familiarity with large financial services or similarly complex enterprise environments.
• Ability to own audit, compliance, or regulatory interactions.
• Experience utilizing database tooling (e.g., OpsRamp, SQL Sentry, Embarcadero DB/Artisan).
• Ability to constructively push back on misaligned demands or unclear ownership.
