Description

You will serve as the technical lead for SQL development, owning the design, implementation, and maintenance of solution architectures across the application stack. This role combines hands-on database engineering with team mentorship and production support.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement SQL-based solutions while managing the production, testing, and development database environments.
• Act as the single point of contact for development issues and support production incidents, ensuring system stability and data integrity.
• Lead migration and transformation initiatives from legacy systems to modern platforms, analyzing risks and defining mitigation strategies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, guide development teams, and mentor members on application functionality and configuration changes.
• Collaborate with business leads and product owners to define requirements and ship new features using Agile methodologies.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on SQL experience with deep understanding of insurance data structures and financial reconciliation.
• Proficiency in ETL and SSIS packages, including workflow and automation creation.
• Strong domain knowledge of MGA operations, premium accounting processes, and P&C insurance (Specialty Insurance preferred).
• Experience with legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms, including Documaker, Rackley, Infomaker, PowerBuilder, and Retool.
• Familiarity with automation and database tools such as GoAnywhere and Redgate Tools.
• Solid understanding of web applications, SOA, microservices, containers, API development, and managed databases.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and ITIL process frameworks in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with premium accounting workflows including invoicing, collections, bordereaux processing, and reporting.
• Proven ability to work independently and guide cross-functional teams.
