You will perform analysis of static structural components and systems for complex gas turbine engines.
Responsibilities
Analyze and assess stress, strength, vibration, heat transfer, deflection, fatigue life, containment, and material selection.
Design, develop, and test static structural components to meet requirements for life, cost, weight, maintainability, and durability.
Create and develop design solutions for newly proposed and existing products.
Present analytical results in design reviews and document findings to meet program deliverables.
Collaborate with design teams, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, customers, and chief engineers.
Required Skills
Minimum of 4 years of experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Proficiency in 3D Modeling and CAD.
Experience with Solidworks or Siemens NX.
Strong understanding of solid mechanics, dynamics, fatigue, and finite element analysis.
Ability to perform complex analyses and hand calculations of engine components and systems.
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Preferred Skills
Experience with topological optimization tools such as Altair Inspire, ANSYS, TopOpt, or Siemens NX.
Experience with FEA software including ANSYS APDL/Workbench, Simcenter Nastran, Simcenter Femap, LS-DYNA, or Altair HyperMesh.
Experience planning and supporting mechanical component testing, including random vibration, acoustic ring tests, mechanical failure, or strain gage placement.
Knowledge of composite materials analysis and gas turbine engine industry standards.
