Description

You will design and manage the Apigee Hybrid runtime plane on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and on-premises clusters. You own the automation of platform deployments, connectivity, security, and observability for large-scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Apigee Hybrid runtime on AKS and on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
• Automate platform deployments and upgrades using Terraform, Python, and Helm.
• Establish high-availability connectivity between remote runtimes and the Google-managed control plane via VPN or Interconnect.
• Enforce enterprise-grade security, including mTLS, OAuth2, and data obfuscation for analytics.
• Implement unified monitoring and alerting using Google Cloud Observability and Grafana.

Required Skills

• 8+ years in software development with deep experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Apigee X and Apigee Hybrid architectures, including Cassandra for stateful runtime data.
• Mastery of Kubernetes (AKS/GKE) and multi-cloud networking across Azure and Google Cloud.
• Experience building automation-first delivery platforms using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Strong ability to mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with capacity planning and infrastructure expansion for hybrid clusters.
