Description

You will design, build, and operate cloud-native APIs on AWS.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement serverless and containerized APIs using Node.js and/or Java.
• Model data access patterns using DynamoDB and S3 for object storage.
• Build asynchronous, event-driven flows using SNS/SQS and Kafka, ensuring idempotency.
• Implement API security (OAuth2/JWT, IAM, VPC) and establish CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply observability tooling (CloudWatch, X-Ray) and perform performance tuning on APIs.

Required Skills

• 10+ years in backend development.
• 3+ years building production APIs on AWS.
• Proficiency in Node.js (TypeScript preferred) and/or Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus).
• Strong command of REST principles, JSON, and API lifecycle management.
• Experience with event streaming using Kafka.
• Solid understanding of AWS serverless services: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SNS/SQS.
• Familiarity with IAM, VPC networking basics, GitHub workflows, and Linux.
• Experience with API development and JavaScript.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with Splunk.
