Description

You will rewrite and migrate legacy batch workloads into AWS Batch, preserving business functionality and meeting existing service-level agreements.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Analyze legacy batch jobs, scripts, and database procedures to map dependencies, business logic, and operational constraints.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and batch processing solutions using Java Spring Batch, Python, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Support integration between on-premises legacy systems and AWS platforms, ensuring reliable data movement and synchronization.
• Build and optimize data ingestion workflows for the Rapid Data Ingestion platform, including file intake, validation, and transformation.
• Implement data quality checks, data lineage capabilities, and secure engineering practices including least-privilege access.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Java Spring Batch for batch job development and modernization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, specifically AWS Batch and Amazon S3.
• Strong SQL development experience, including Oracle SQL and PL/SQL concepts.
• Experience developing data engineering solutions using Python.
• Strong shell scripting experience using Bash, KornShell, or similar Unix/Linux languages.
• Experience with Control-M or equivalent enterprise job scheduling and orchestration tools.
• Experience modernizing on-premises batch workloads to cloud-based platforms.
• Understanding of secure access patterns, credential management, and audit-focused data processing.
• Experience with CI/CD, version control, and standard software engineering practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with disaster recovery implementation for data platforms in AWS.
• Ability to perform performance tuning to meet strict operational SLAs.
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and defect triage in production environments.
