Description

You will lead the modernization of mainframe batch systems by re-engineering them into scalable ETL processes on AWS.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Re-engineer mainframe batch jobs into equivalent ETL batch processes primarily using AWS Glue.
• Design, code, and test Glue jobs to meet functional requirements while optimizing for performance.
• Implement solutions integrating Glue ETL PySpark jobs with Lambda, Step Functions, and REST API calls.
• Document design specifications and collaborate with architecture teams during design and code reviews.
• Utilize DevOps tools to develop and integrate custom software solutions for automated deployment.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of relevant experience in software development lifecycle with strong ETL development focus.
• Deep experience with AWS, specifically using AWS Glue Studio for ETL development.
• Proficiency in PySpark and Python for data transformation tasks.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing solutions involving Lambda, Step Functions, and REST API integrations.
• Familiarity with version control systems like CodeCommit, CodeBuild, and CodePipeline.
• Experience tracking work using issue tracking systems such as Jira.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a fast-paced development environment.
