Description

You will re-engineer mainframe batch jobs into AWS Glue ETL processes to support a federal mainframe modernization initiative.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Glue ETL PySpark jobs using SQL, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Lead code development, unit testing, and end-to-end testing for data processing pipelines.
• Integrate automated deployment technologies using CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CloudFormation.
• Document design specifications and coordinate infrastructure needs with architecture and infrastructure teams.
• Track activities and manage issues using Jira and Confluence.

Required Skills

• 8-12 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree (or 6-10 years with a master’s).
• Strong experience with AWS Glue Studio, PySpark, and Python.
• Proficiency with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.
• Experience with REST API calls and serverless cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools: CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for issue tracking and documentation.
• Experience working within the software development lifecycle for ETL-based development.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of mainframe technologies: DB2, JCL, COBOL COPYBOOK, and EBCDIC.
• Experience with Linux bash scripting.
• AWS, Agile, or related certifications.
