Description

You will maintain and optimize complex databases and Tier-1 data-driven applications for a major financial environment, ensuring 24/7 uptime and strict SLA compliance.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and test new databases for specific business units.
• Manage data pipelines to aggregate and transform raw data from various sources.
• Optimize data delivery and redesign systems to improve performance and handling.
• Maintain processed data in parallel on distributed Hadoop storage using MapReduce.
• Identify technical problems and communicate effective solutions to the team.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience maintaining applications utilizing Java, J2EE, SDLC, and WebSphere.
• 6+ years of recent experience working for a major US bank or brokerage house.
• 6+ years of experience working with Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, Apache Spark, HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, Flume, Sqoop, and ZooKeeper.
• 6+ years of experience developing on RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• 6+ years of experience maintaining Tier-1 data-driven applications.
• 5+ years of programming experience in Scala, Java, Python, or Go.
• 5+ years of development experience on Hadoop and Spark.
• Extensive experience with SOA design principles and large data sets.
• Experience with database maintenance and data hygiene routines/models.
