Description

Manage and optimize database engines and cloud infrastructure within a DevOps and SRE framework. You will own the reliability, performance, and automation of data services.

Responsibilities

• Tune database engines and application queries for optimal performance.
• Automate routine database backups and on-demand restores.
• Right-size database instances to ensure proper scaling and performance.
• Build infrastructure via CLI using Infrastructure as Code.
• Manage and troubleshoot UNIX/Linux systems, including security and performance tuning.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database administration or equivalent.
• Expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, and MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS or equivalent Cloud PaaS such as Azure or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency with system management tools like Terraform, Chef, or Ansible.
• Ability to script in Python, Go, Perl, or PowerShell.
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, or Amazon EKS.
• Knowledge of continuous integration tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.
• Strong background in UNIX/Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
