Description

You will manage and optimize database engines across cloud and on-premise environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Tune database and application query performance to ensure optimal throughput.
• Automate routine database backups and on-demand restores.
• Right-size database instances to balance scaling requirements with performance.
• Provision infrastructure via CLI in an automated, repeatable manner using IaC.
• Manage database lifecycles within AWS RDS or equivalent cloud PaaS environments.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database administration.
• Expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, and MySQL.
• Proficiency with Terraform and system management languages like Chef, Ansible, or similar.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, Perl, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux administration, troubleshooting, and security.
• Familiarity with containerization tools including Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, or Amazon EKS.
• Knowledge of continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo.

Preferred Skills

• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
