Description

You will architect and execute the cloud infrastructure and migration strategy for a large-scale Elasticsearch to OpenSearch transition. This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute the cloud infrastructure and migration strategy for zero downtime.
• Lead the migration of the search platform while maintaining high availability.
• Implement and validate zero-downtime migration patterns and rollback strategies.
• Collaborate with application teams, SREs, and DevOps engineers on platform modernization.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps architecture.
• Hands-on expertise with OpenSearch production operations and Elasticsearch internals.
• Strong experience with AWS services: EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, KMS, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Proven experience executing Elasticsearch-to-OpenSearch migrations in production.
• Solid DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Practical experience with OpenSearch features, including ISM, built-in security, and plugins.
• Experience with configuration management and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.
