Description

You will administer, configure, and maintain Oracle (19c+) and PostgreSQL (14+) database environments across development, staging, and production.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage database provisioning, schema design, user access, and lifecycle operations with minimal downtime.
• Perform version upgrades, patch management, and migrations while maintaining backup and recovery strategies.
• Analyze and tune slow-running queries using execution plans, profiling tools, and indexing strategies.
• Set up proactive monitoring, define threshold-based alerts, and build dashboards for real-time visibility.
• Lead triage and root cause analysis for database incidents, ensuring 24/7 observability and compliance.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on DBA experience with Oracle (11g/19c) and PostgreSQL (12+).
• Deep expertise in query tuning, execution plan analysis, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency with Oracle tools: SQL*Plus, RMAN, AWR, ADDM, OEM.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL tools: psql, pg_stat_*, pgBadger, pgBouncer, Patroni.
• Experience working in cloud environments, specifically AWS RDS/Aurora.
• Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, or PL/SQL/PL/pgSQL for automation.
• Solid understanding of HA/DR architectures including Data Guard, RAC, and streaming replication.

Preferred Skills

• Oracle OCA/OCP certification or equivalent.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Familiarity with containerized databases and Kubernetes.
