Description

You will manage, optimize, and secure Amazon Redshift environments to ensure high performance and availability.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Manage user access, permissions, and security configurations including IAM roles and VPC security.
• Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and resolve bottlenecks using CloudWatch.
• Execute cluster resizing, scaling, and maintenance tasks like vacuuming and analyzing tables.
• Troubleshoot ETL/ELT processes and optimize data ingestion workflows.
• Implement backup, snapshot recovery, and cross-region disaster recovery strategies.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience as a DBA with 3 years in AWS.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Amazon Redshift (traditional or serverless).
• Expertise in Workload Management (WLM) and data distribution strategies.
• Proficiency in Redshift backup and snapshot recovery processes.
• Experience automating DBA tasks using Python.
• Strong knowledge of Amazon S3 integration, Redshift Spectrum, and Athena.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, Glue, and Airflow.
• Understanding of Data Lake architecture and AWS account management.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks such as GDPR and HIPAA.
