Description

You will manage and optimize PostgreSQL database environments across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Execute PostgreSQL installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching.
• Manage database migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL and from on-premise to cloud environments.
• Configure and monitor high availability through streaming replication, WAL replication, and fail-over mechanisms.
• Perform database performance tuning, specifically targeting shared_memory, work_mem, maintenance_work_mem, and buffer cache.
• Administer backup, recovery, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) processes.

Required Skills

• 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL administration, including partitioning and system catalogs.
• Experience with Patroni clusters or 3-node clusters with DR setups.
• Proficiency with PGAdmin4, PGPool, PEM, BART, BARMAN, and ORA2PG.
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems and cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
• Knowledge of IBM DB2 and LUW DB.

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing database user roles, security permissions, and index management.
