Description

You will manage and optimize production database environments with a focus on automation and AWS integration.

Responsibilities

• Manage Amazon Aurora and PostgreSQL instances in production environments.
• Execute SQL tuning to optimize query performance and database efficiency.
• Automate routine tasks using Python and Bash scripting.
• Implement database security best practices and manage AWS IAM permissions.
• Provision infrastructure using CloudFormation and manage networking via VPC and Route 53.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database engineering.
• Proven experience with Amazon Aurora and/or PostgreSQL in production.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and tuning techniques.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, Route 53, VPC, and IAM.
• Proficiency in CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.
• Scripting experience with Python and Bash for automation.
• Strong understanding of database security concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS RDS and other AWS database services.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
