Description

You will manage and optimize MongoDB and MariaDB database environments on-site in Edison, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade MongoDB databases and Ops Manager.
• Implement sharding configurations, including shard key selection, balancing, and chunk zoning.
• Manage schema design, performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Execute backup solutions, replica set management, and Oplog/journal administration.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and apply methodical fixes.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of total DBA experience.
• 5+ years of MongoDB DBA experience.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, and Ansible for automation.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools: Jenkins, Git, Udeploy, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Hands-on AWS experience: EC2, CFT, Route53, and RDS.
• Knowledge of containerization using Docker and ECS.
• Strong understanding of replica sets, read/write concerns, and physical/logical backups.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with MariaDB/MySQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification.
