Description

You will manage database architecture, migrations, and performance optimization in a remote capacity.

Responsibilities

• Assess database migrations from on-premises to cloud environments and design cutover strategies.
• Design database blueprints, sizing, and structures based on RTO, RPO, and customer requirements.
• Configure, tune, and set up multi-node clusters and replication for resiliency and performance.
• Implement data life-cycle management and backup patterns using economical long-term cold storage.
• Architect data cache strategies to support real-time, heavy-read applications and support production issues.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in database design and management across BFSI, Telecom, or Retail domains.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL databases including Postgres, Postgres EDB, MySQL, and Oracle.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL Server.
• 2+ years of experience managing multi-node clusters with over 100 TB of data.
• Proven track record of delivering at least 2 on-premises to cloud migrations for datasets >20 TB.
• Experience with AWS RDS, databases hosted on AWS, SQL Server PaaS on Azure, and databases hosted on Azure.
• Experience with CockroachDB, Yugabyte, Lucene index DBs (Elasticsearch), or VectorDB implementations.
• Experience with memory cache solutions such as Redis.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and No-SQL database principles.
