Description

You will lead database migration, modernization, and consolidation efforts from on-premises environments to the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Assess database structures, data size, RTO, and RPO values to determine migration feasibility.
• Design database blueprints, cutover strategies, and sizing requirements based on customer needs.
• Configure, tune, and set up multi-node clusters and replication to ensure resiliency and performance.
• Implement data life-cycle management and backup patterns using economical long-term cold storage.
• Architect data cache strategies to support real-time, heavy-read applications and resolve production issues.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in database design and management across BFSI, Telecom, or Retail domains.
• 5+ years of experience with Postgres, Postgres EDB, MySQL, or Oracle.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL Server databases.
• 2+ years of experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
• 2+ years managing multi-node clusters with datasets exceeding 100 TB.
• Successful delivery of at least 2 on-premises to cloud migrations for datasets >20 TB.
• Experience with AWS RDS, AWS-hosted databases, Azure SQL Server PaaS, or Azure-hosted databases.
• Experience with CockroachDB, Yugabyte, Lucene-based search (Elasticsearch), or VectorDB.
• Experience with memory cache solutions like Redis and database security/encryption best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Deep knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL database architectures.
