Description

You will own technical support and performance optimization for applications hosted in AWS environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot applications on EKS and EC2 within complex, firewalled multi-application environments.
• Perform deep-dive Java application analysis, including thread and heap analysis, to resolve performance issues.
• Investigate application health and business transactions using APM tools to pinpoint root causes.
• Optimize application-to-database interactions, focusing on JDBC connection utilization, pools, and query/cache optimization.
• Mentor technical staff on issue triage, alarm response, and escalation procedures.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of technical experience in application support and troubleshooting.
• Advanced AWS experience supporting EKS and EC2 instances.
• Expertise in Java application troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Splunk for ad-hoc log analysis and complex query development.
• Experience with APM tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or New Relic.
• Strong database troubleshooting skills involving Oracle and MongoDB, including AWR report analysis.
• Experience building and maintaining automated pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins.
• Linux administration skills, including shell scripting and OS tuning for application performance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience providing technical direction and mentoring to engineering teams.
