Description

You will lead the analysis, design, and implementation of electrical grounding systems for industrial or commercial power systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed grounding studies, including modeling of ground resistance, fault currents, and step and touch potentials.
• Design grounding solutions for new electrical power systems using engineering calculations and simulations.
• Identify hazards related to electromagnetic interference and lightning strikes to develop mitigation strategies for personnel safety and equipment protection.
• Investigate grounding-related failures using diagnostic techniques and root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports summarizing analysis results, system modifications, and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering focused on power systems and electrical distribution.
• Proven expertise in conducting grounding studies and analysis.
• Proficiency with industry-standard power system analysis software such as ETAP or PSS/E.
• Strong understanding of grounding principles and system design.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices, including PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as IEEE, NFPA, and IEC.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience within the energy, utilities, or manufacturing sectors.
