Description

Design, develop, and deploy large-scale machine learning applications with a focus on Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) optimization in hosted production environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Formulate real-world business rules as decision variables, linear constraints, and objectives using LP/IP theory and branch-and-bound intuition.
• Implement model logic in Java and Python, including Streamlit dashboards, while shipping changes in both languages.
• Tune commercial solvers (FICO Xpress, Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools, or Hexaly), managing gaps, threads, seeds, and determinism.
• Read solver logs and .lp files to debug and optimize model performance.
• Leverage AI coding agents (Claude, Copilot) to accelerate development while maintaining high coding standards.

Required Skills

• 7 to 9+ years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing and implementing large-scale ML applications.
• 2+ years of professional experience with Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) modeling and commercial solver tuning.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Python.
• Experience with FICO Xpress (strongly preferred) or Gurobi/CPLEX/OR-Tools/Hexaly.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related technical discipline.

Preferred Skills

• MS or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, or Computer Science-optimization.
• 3+ years of applied optimization or demonstrated MIP experience.
