Description

Lead development of complex, user-facing web applications using React and TypeScript, owning the front-end architecture and delivery approach.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Partner with UX and Product to translate designs into polished, accessible experiences.
• Establish front-end standards for component architecture, state management, and testing.
• Build responsive layouts and theming using EXDS UI foundations.
• Collaborate with backend teams on GraphQL/REST API contracts and error models.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical feasibility and performance strategies.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level React proficiency (hooks, composition, context, concurrency).
• Strong TypeScript skills (generics, strictness, types-as-design).
• Deep experience with modern tooling: Vite, Webpack, Babel, SWC, npm/pnpm.
• Advanced CSS architecture (CSS Modules, CSS-in-JS, utility frameworks) and responsive design.
• Proficiency in testing with Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Cypress.
• Accessibility expertise: WCAG, ARIA, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader considerations.
• Performance engineering: profiling, bundle splitting, SSR/CSR trade-offs, and Core Web Vitals.
• Must have proficiency using AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for implementation and debugging.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with monorepos and secure client-side patterns (auth flows, token handling).
• Strong background in API integration strategies including pagination and caching.
