Design, implement, and operate virtualized infrastructure using VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE, and OpenStack for Linux, Windows, and Windows Server workloads.
Build and automate OS provisioning and golden images across hypervisors and cloud platforms (templates, cloud‑init, scriptsetc.).
Configure and manage core services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, Active Directory/LDAP, and IAM/AAA (RBAC, SSO,MFA).
Deploy, upgrade, and operate Kubernetes clusters (on-prem and managed services such as OpenShift, AKS, EKS, GKE), including worker lifecycle, CNI, ingress, and basic storage integration.
Support and administer public cloud environments on Azure, AWS, and GCP (focus on compute, networking, storage, IAM, and cost awareness).
Administer Cisco network switches, routers, and firewalls, including VLANs, routing, VPNs, ACLs, and firewall policies in line with security standards.
Collaborate with storage teams to provision and consume SAN/NAS resources; understand RAID, LUNs, snapshots, backup/restore, and capacity/performance considerations.
Implement OS and infrastructure security controls, including hardening, patching, endpoint security, and firewallrules.
Produce and maintain low‑level designs and accurate network and system diagrams using Visio, draw.io or equivalenttools.
Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, and performance; troubleshoot complex incidents across compute, network, storage, and cloud layers; drive root‑cause analysis and remediation.
Adhere to ITIL practices for Incident, Problem, and Change Management; create and update tickets in ServiceNow or equivalent ITSMtools.
Prepare and present changes in CAB meetings, including risk, impact, test, and rollbackplans.
Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for all supported platforms and services.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (security, development, operations) to ensure reliability, performance, and security of services.
Preferred Skill Set
Primary
Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco, VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) and at least one of Proxmox VE or OpenStack.
Solid administration experience in Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server (installation, configuration, hardening, troubleshooting).
Working knowledge of Azure and AWS (VMs/EC2, VPC/VNet, security groups/NSG, IAM, storage, load balancers); familiarity with GCP/GKE is highly desirable.
Experience deploying and operating Kubernetes clusters on-prem and in the cloud (AKS/EKS/GKE), including basic observability and backup concepts.
Good understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, VPN, load balancing, and firewall concepts.
Practical experience with Cisco networking and enterprise firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA/FTD or equivalent).
