You design, code, and maintain instrument interfaces that automate communication between laboratory equipment and software systems.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate instrument interfacing specifications using vendor documentation and communicate with SMEs.
• Design, code, and unit test instrument interfaces within existing object-oriented frameworks.
• Participate in the full SDLC, reviewing requirements and supporting QA with technical specifications.
• Review code modules to ensure stability and optimal performance.
• Own delivered interfaces as the subject matter expert for support, enhancements, and risk evaluation.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Java software engineering.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experience with object-oriented design and multi-tier architectures.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, specifically MS SQL Server.
• Ability to implement and consume RESTful Web Services using JSON and XML.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like JUnit.
• Ability to read technical specifications and write design documentation.
