Description

You will lead the modernization of legacy monolith applications and drive containerization efforts using Docker and Kubernetes. You will also maintain and enhance AWS-based conversion systems and collaborate with engineering and business teams to define scope and verify output quality.

Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy monolith applications and containerize components using Docker and Helm charts for Kubernetes deployment.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Gather requirements and define project scope by collaborating with Media Production teams, managers, and business analysts.
• Partner with Media Engineers to implement new file conversion formats and verify output quality using encoding/decoding tools.
• Maintain transcoding software through version updates, security patches, and unit testing.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Expertise in Java, SpringBoot, and J2EE technologies (EJB, Hibernate, JPA).
• Proficiency with RESTful Web Services and implementations like JAX-RS and Jersey.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration via ECS or EKS.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access.
• Familiarity with code repositories such as GitHub and CVS.
• Experience with IDEs like IntelliJ, Eclipse, or Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Preferred Skills

• Research and evaluation of media transcoding tools including FFmpeg, ImageMagick, SoX, Lame, Rhozet, Carbon Encoder, and Vantage.
• Enhance AWS-based conversion systems to support auto-scaling based on volume using CloudWatch.
