Description

You will lead the architecture and development of Java-based microservices for streaming platforms.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development of Java microservices.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability for high-traffic users.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on feature delivery and performance metrics.
• Guide teams on CI/CD, observability, security, and testing practices.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• 17+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Java (11/17+) and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design.
• Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and domain-driven design (DDD).
• Experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudFront) or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL or gRPC.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and service mesh tools like Istio or Linkerd.
• Proficiency in NoSQL (DynamoDB, Cassandra) and SQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and SAML standards.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with CDNs and video streaming systems.
• Experience with Disney+ or similar streaming technology ecosystems.
